End of the Year Miscellaneous Ramblings

Here we are at the end of 2024. It’s been another interesting and exciting year for us at RAM! I thought I’d take this time to bring out some observations and cool tidbits we have seen happen over the past 12 months.

RAM Racers are in the Winner’s Circle

Our customers have dominated a variety of racing sanctions and events that use manual transmissions. One such example is Johnny Pluchino, who nearly did it all in wrapping up the NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock Championship and runner-up in PDRA Extreme Pro Stock.

Our Director of Business Development, Matt Giangrande, pulled off an incredible win to start the Mountain Motor Pro Stock season at the prestigious World Series of Pro Mod. RAM also claimed championships in almost all of the various stick shift groups around the country, including three of the four World Champions in the Southeast Gassers Association.

RAM has also continued to grow in our street-strip markets, but some have started to take off in 2024. The Drag and Drive racing market was already hot, but racers have been figuring out that they can go very fast using manual transmissions in these vehicles.

The Red Hat RAM, RAM Billet 10 inch, and Lo-Pro 10 single-disc units are natural for these classes as they allow for adjustment and lighter racing pressures to help get the car down the track. However, they can also be ‘turned up’ in pressure to complete the street-driving portion of these events. We see 2025 as a continued growth area for these cars!

The Street Dual disc clutch market keeps getting better and better, especially as many of the later model Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, and Challenger cars are cycling into the secondary market and becoming more affordable for enthusiasts to modify and enjoy.

Naturally, the clutches in these older vehicles are getting tired and ready for replacement or upgrading, as they are fitted with hotter engines and power adders.

The People Behind RAM Clutches

We are extremely proud of our employee base and how it has grown not just this year but the last several years.  We have brought quite a few younger folks into our fold. They are all very enthusiastic and dedicated to their jobs. It is really nice to have ‘young blood’ who are excited about their jobs.

Speaking of employees, in September, our employee David Simmons retired. David faithfully served us for over 35 years—you read that right. It’s an incredible feat in today’s times! If you ever bought a RAM flywheel or pressure plate, chances are David either produced it or trained his replacement to build it. We have three other current employees who will be either at or have exceeded 30 years in 2024!

Updating the RAM Website

We are constantly working to update, upgrade, and improve our website. We know this is a critical tool for our customers and distributors to get more detailed information on our products.

This includes ensuring that if we show you an image of a product, it is precisely what you will receive. I can’t stand it when I look at a product online and the wording under the picture says, ‘representative image’!  We are amidst a major round of updates to take this data to another level. We hope you will notice the improvements!

Keep an eye out over the next few months for more new video content as well!

We Couldn’t Do This Without You

We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to every one of you, our customers, distributors, racers, and industry friends.

Without your support over the last 51 years, RAM would not be where it is today.  You have our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
