TRUCK PULLING CLUTCH SYSTEMS
As With RAM specialty drag racing clutches, RAM truck pulling clutches are custom assembled for your specific application. Based on the eleven inch Long Style cover design, these units feature a heavy gauge stamped steel cover with welded spring cups and a steel pressure ring. A billet aluminum ring with segmented steel inserts is available as a special order option. Flywheels are available in 30 pound steel or aluminum. The clutch can be set up with 5135 or 5191 compound iron discs in all standard splines up to 1 3/8-10. Single disc ‘slipper’ style clutches can be used with engines up to 750 horsepower, or where every limited slipping is desired. The same quality components used to assemble the single disc clutches are used in the RAM dual disc pulling clutches. Dual disc clutches will allow for a more controlled manual slip to get the sled moving without severe wear or maintenance. As the RPM increases, the centrifugal pressure comes in to lock the clutch up as the truck progresses down course.
Dual disc units are built to a short height for standard depth bellhousings using a thinner clutch disc, or to standard height for vehicles utilizing a deep bellhousing.
