Built on our championship-proven drag racing expertise, RAM Clutches offers custom-tailored truck pull clutch packages in single, dual, or triple disc configurations. All units facilitate progressive clutch engagement during initial torque application, enabling controlled sled launch. As RPM increases, centrifugal force actuates full lock-up, ensuring consistent torque transfer throughout the run. All RAM pulling clutches are ‘pedal style’ clutches. This means that they require manual engagement via a clutch pedal.

Red Hat Single and Dual Disc Clutch Systems
Single Disc
Built to perform, every RAM Red Hat single and dual disc pulling clutch is custom-built and meticulously assembled to match the demands of your specific truck and application. RAM Red Hat units are based on the eleven-inch Long Style cover configuration. They utilize a heavy gauge stamped steel cover with welded spring cups and a billet aluminum pressure ring to withstand the rigors of competitive pulling. Its superior thermal stability helps to maintain flatness through repeated heating and cooling cycles to ensure consistent clutch performance. Static pressure—commonly referred to as base pressure—is fully adjustable. As engine RPM increases, centrifugally assisted levers apply additional clamping force, progressively locking the clutch tighter to ensure consistent power delivery throughout the run. Single and dual disc systems are available with a billet steel or billet aluminum flywheel. All single disc units feature a 5135 sintered iron clutch disc and can be built to accommodate all standard spline options.

Dual Disc
The same premium components and customizable options that define our RAM single disc Red Hat pulling clutches are also integral to our Red Hat dual disc systems—ensuring uniform quality and performance across the lineup. This fully adjustable dual disc clutch system provides refined slip control at launch, helping move the sled efficiently while minimizing wear and extending service intervals. Static pressure—commonly referred to as base pressure—is fully adjustable. As engine RPM increases, centrifugally assisted levers apply additional clamping force, progressively locking the clutch tighter to ensure consistent power delivery throughout the run. Dual disc systems are available with a billet steel or billet aluminum flywheel. Dual disc units feature either 5135 or 5191 sintered iron clutch discs and can be built to accommodate all standard spline options.
Red Hat RAM dual disc clutches are available in two configurations: a reduced overall height for standard-depth bellhousings using thinner clutch discs, or a standard height for deep bellhousing applications. Please SPECIFY which bellhousing is being used on our custom clutch specification form.

Defiant Series Single and Dual Disc Clutch Systems
The Defiant Series of single disc and dual disc truck pull ‘slipper style' clutches are manufactured by RAM in collaboration with Black Magic Clutches. These 10- and 11-inch assemblies combine superior strength with user-friendly adjustability, providing maximum performance and hassle-free operation. The design of the Defiant unit ensures that each unit maintains the ideal spring position and lever configuration to maximize the clamping pressure and counterweight application. A stand-driven billet aluminum pressure ring enhances the unit’s rotational strength and structural rigidity. Each Defiant clutch system is custom built to match the unique specifications of your truck, factoring in critical parameters such as engine type, transmission configuration, rear end setup, and tire information.

Ram Pro Billet double and triple disc systems
Built for serious power, RAM Pro Billet dual and triple disc systems offer unmatched adjustability, rugged durability, and refined control—purpose-built for high-horsepower pulling competition. RAM Pro Billet 6-lever units feature a precision-machined stand-driven billet aluminum pressure ring with six pressure members. These key features maximum rotational strength and optimize clamping forces. Engineered for repeatability and durability, adjustable titanium stands make it a breeze to maintain optimal clutch ring height—delivering consistent performance run after run. Units are available utilizing either 5135 or 5191 compound clutch discs.
Custom one-off configurations are available and may require a sample flywheel for design purposes. Custom units are also subject to an engineering fee. All RAM Pro Billet clutch systems require a minimum bellhousing depth of 8 1/8 inches for proper fitment.
